How to use it
After shampooing, gently squeeze excess water from the hair, then work conditioner through the mid-lengths and ends where the hair is oldest and driest. A quick cool rinse at the end helps the cuticle lie flat, which can add shine and cut frizz.
Detangle with a wide-tooth comb or your fingers while the conditioner is still in, working from the ends up toward the roots to avoid yanking through knots. For very dry hair, swap in a deeper hair mask once or twice a week in place of your usual conditioner rather than layering both.

What to realistically expect
With regular use, a good conditioner should make hair easier to comb, softer to the touch and calmer against frizz, and it helps reduce the breakage that comes from tugging through tangles. What conditioner cannot do is repair a split end permanently or change the hair’s basic texture; it improves how the hair looks and behaves while it is on and for a while after. Ongoing shedding, an itchy or flaking scalp, or sudden changes in hair density are worth raising with a dermatologist or trichologist, since those can have causes a conditioner will not address.
